Naperville Diamonds, Triple Crown in association for key 2021 Midwest event

Two trusted and recognizable names in youth fastpitch softball, the Naperville (IL) Diamonds and Triple Crown Sports, announced they will operate in association for the 2021 Queen of Diamonds tournament, set for June 4-6 (10u through 14u) and June 11-13 (16u and 18u).
 
The 15th annual Queen of Diamonds event will be held at eight-field Frontier Sports Complex in Naperville, which is about 30 miles west of downtown Chicago. The format is a four-game guarantee with a double-elimination championship bracket.
 
The Naperville Diamonds were founded in 1994 and have evolved as one of Illinois’ largest and most accomplished travel softball programs, serving the community in divisions from age 7 through 18. 
 
“We couldn’t be any more excited about our association with Triple Crown Sports. For more than a decade the Queen of Diamonds has built a reputation as one of the top summer tournaments in the Midwest,” said Diamonds president Bryan McNamara. “Combining that history with a brand as nationally respected as Triple Crown will continue to grow this event as a can’t-miss stop on everyone’s summer tournament schedule.”
 
Triple Crown Sports has been producing youth, high school and college events for nearly 40 years and has a coast-to-coast presence in youth softball. TCS runs the Colorado 4th of July event, which draws close to 900 teams in a typical year, as well at the TC Nationals, a highly competitive national championship tournament slated for July 2021 in southern California. Triple Crown has multiple events in the Midwest as well, including the Super 72 NIT, set for Sept. 10-12, 2021, in the Chicago suburbs of Orland Park and Midlothian.
 
“We’ve always appreciated the skill set and organizational strength of the Naperville Diamonds, who have shown you don’t need to come from the Sun Belt to play superior softball,” said Sean Hardy, chief operating officer for Triple Crown. “We all want 2021 to be a bounce-back year for youth sports, and we are very pleased to be working closely with the Diamonds toward that goal.”
