Lady Magic Munoz, Hotshots National Galloway Co-Champs of 16u National Power Pool

July 7, 2025

AURORA, Colo. -- After a week-long tournament, consistently facing the toughest teams in the nation, two teams remained atop of the 16u National Power Pool, Lady Magic Munoz and Hotshots National Galloway. Due to time and travel limitations with weather, the championship game was called and both teams were awarded Co-Champs of the ilustrious Colorado 4th of July Tournament.

Both teams were thoroughly dominant throughout the tournament, with the Lady Magic Munoz posting a 10-2 record on the week, and Hotshots National Galloway going 10-1.

Hotshots National Galloway relied on some great pitching throughout the week, posting four games of giving up one run or less, and only gave up more than five runs just twice. On the week, Hotshots gave up just 38 runs (3.5 per game). For Lady Magic Munoz, however, it was the offense that carried them. Lady Magic Munoz scored at least eight runs in all but one game, and scored a total of 154 runs (12.8 per game). It was setting up to be a great championship, high-powered offense vs. the stifling pitching and defense.

During Sunday's bracket play, Hotshots National Galloway knocked off Impact Caymol 12-5 and Impact Gold 9-4 to advance to the semifinal against Georgia Impact Premier. In a tightly contested game, Hotshots National held on to win 5-4.

On the other side of the bracket, Lady Magic Munoz defeated Nebraska Gold 12-6 in the opening round and outlasted Fury Platinum in a slugfest, 18-14, to advance to the semifinals against Athletics Mercado. In a back-and-forth offensive showdown, Lady Magic Munoz came back to win in extra innings, 14-13, to advance to the championship.
