WINDSOR — Believe in yourself, and sometimes you can’t even believe how well it works out.
Confident approaches and quality swings ruled the day for the 10u Oklahoma Bombers Gold 2033 on Tuesday, which kicked off its run at the 2026 Sparkler Juniors with a 14-1 victory over Utah Hot Shotz-Jackson at Chimney Park. Capped by a tidy 4-0 shutout of Texas Elite-Cook, the Bombers were one of three teams to go 2-0 in the 11-team field.
The offense certainly could operate with the brakes off thanks to the door-slamming pitching of starter Trinity Worden, who scattered four hits in her four innings.
Lanie Williams hit two triples and drove in four runs for the Bombers (Newcastle, OK), while Harlow Hutchins smoked two inside-the-park home runs and also drove in four runs.
“I usually say to myself it’s all about fun, not nervousness, We practice a lot, get a lot of reps, and you know you have the capability to do it all,” Hutchins said. “Go out there with confidence. We say, ‘let’s go win this thing.’ We pump each other up, and we get excited when good things happen.”
“I’ve been pitching since I was 8, do lessons maybe twice a week, and that really helps a lot, and practice at home with my dad every day,” Worden said. “I felt good, and really wasn’t that nervous.”
“Trinity is amazing — she’s worked very hard, I’ve noticed everything she’s done. All our pitchers are amazing,” Hutchins added. “I’m glad we have all of them, and they’re all great friends.”
June Buckley and Emery Chapman each scored two runs as the Bombers scored in each inning, shutting the door with four runs in the fourth.
“We say, if you hit the ball you win, and if you don’t you lose,” said Bombers coach Faythe Brandt. “That’s been our focus the past few weeks, and we came out here and lit it up. Trinity is our most consistent pitcher, works hard every day, and I was excited to get her that first start.”
Mia Edwards had two hits for the Hot Shotz (South Jordan, UT), hitting a double and scoring in the second inning.
Explosion Indian/Larkin (San Diego) and Impact Gold 2033 Serna (Manvel, TX) also went undefeated on Tuesday. The event concludes Friday afternoon at Chimney Park.
